An authentic experience: Our Garden

At Hotel Arturo, we believe that quality cuisine begins in the garden. That's why a fundamental part of our commitment to local gastronomy is our own garden, located just a few meters from the restaurant. Here we grow fresh vegetables, aromatic herbs and other ingredients that are part of the dishes we offer our customers. Our products are harvested every day to ensure that the food we serve on your plate is as fresh as possible.

Our guests can enjoy the fruits of the garden in many of the dishes on our menu. From the fresh salads of lettuce, tomato and onion, to the herbs that give a special touch to our roasts and sauces, each ingredient is carefully selected. In addition, the seasons set the pace of production: in spring and summer, vegetables such as peppers and eggplants are the protagonists, while in autumn we enjoy pumpkins and cauliflowers. This natural cycle not only guarantees fresh products, but also helps us maintain a sustainable and environmentally friendly cuisine.

The orchard is also a way to connect with the territory and the agricultural tradition of Pallars. During your stay, we invite you to visit the orchard and learn first-hand how we grow the ingredients that you will later find on your plate. In addition, we organize workshops for children and adults, where you can learn about organic farming techniques and participate in the harvest. Thus, at Hotel Arturo you will not only enjoy the best gastronomy, but you will also discover the origin of these authentic flavors that are part of our identity.

Transhumance in the Dark Valley

Transhumance is an ancestral practice that has shaped the pastoral life of the Vall Fosca for centuries. It is the seasonal movement of livestock between winter and summer pastures, an activity that, beyond its economic aspect, is part of the cultural heritage of the area. At Hotel Arturo, guests have the opportunity to experience this unique experience up close, either by following the paths of the herders or participating in related activities.

During spring and autumn, the sight of herds moving across the mountain meadows is an iconic image of the Vall Fosca. This natural event, which marks the change of seasons, is also an opportunity for the local community to interact with nature in a sustainable way. At Hotel Arturo, we collaborate with local herders to offer guided excursions that allow our visitors to experience transhumance firsthand.

Participating in these activities is not only a way to better understand the livestock culture of Pallars, but also to contribute to its preservation. With the help of local suppliers, our clients can explore ancient transhumance routes, discover the fauna and flora that surround these paths and even enjoy picnics prepared with fresh products from the region, thus strengthening the connection with the territory.

Livestock Farming Paths of Pallars

The preservation of these paths is essential to keep alive the memory of transhumance and traditional livestock farming. In addition to being a source of income, these paths were communication routes between towns and markets, facilitating the exchange of local products. Hotel Arturo offers information and maps of these routes so that guests can follow in the footsteps of the livestock farmers and get to know the environment in an immersive way.

Walking along these paths is not only a physical experience, but also a journey through time.
